In 2023, Whangārei District Council opened its new Te Iwitahi Civic Centre—a centralised location to access all council services and a workspace bringing together Council staff from multiple locations into a single, purpose-built facility. Designed to support collaboration, community engagement.
Following a competitive tender process, BFG’s Alto Ergonomic Chair was selected for its comfort, functionality, and sleek design. The chair was specified in various fabric colours across different floors and departments to subtly define zones.
We also supplied the complete table package. The Dane Meeting Table was chosen for its clean, modern design and customisability in size and finish. In the Council Chambers, BFG’s Flip Table range was installed—featuring integrated AV boxes and bespoke acoustic modesty panels that discreetly fold away when the table is tilted, maximising flexibility.
The office areas were fitted out with black steel lockers and sliding door cabinets, supporting efficient storage without compromising on style.
Despite the logistical challenge of stair-carrying most items due to limited lift access, we managed a smooth and timely delivery process across all floors.
