Goal
Waiora Waikato Hospital’s new Te Pureoranga Waikato Regional Renal Centre has been thoughtfully designed to offer patients needing kidney dialysis a culturally appropriate and supportive treatment environment, for both them and whānau members.
This has resulted in comfortable treatment spaces and a layout that respects Māori protocols, beliefs, and traditions.
The name, Te Pureoranga, gifted by Te Haa o te Whenua o Kirikiriroa, describes the process and outcome of renal services with the aspiration that their sacred rite to purification and the restoration of their wellbeing would be achieved in both physical and spiritual realms.
How We Went About It
BFG were selected as the successful tenderer for the FF&E package for Te Pureoranga Waikato Regional Renal Centre, in an extremely competitive tender process. BFG worked closely alongside the Waikato DHB project team, to ensure the furniture selected was suitable for each space, providing a comfortable and welcoming space which was focussed on enhancing patient experience and care.
Included in this fitout were 60+ Apex desks, Tivoli task chairs, Image Architectural chairs, Healthcare stools, DHB 24/7 chairs, waiting area bench seating, meeting chairs & tables, Melteca mobiles, assorted soft seating with coffee tables, pinboards & whiteboards, & specialist shelving.
This was comprised of delivery and installation for a total supply fit-out across 2 levels. BFG were awarded the contract for total fit-out supply in July 2024, with project completion in December 2024.
Turn Out
BFG successfully managed and delivered the full turnkey fitout in the last week before the Christmas holidays in December 2024.
BFG were grateful to continue to work alongside Te Whatu Ora Waikato DHB Project and the Renal team to deliver a class leading Renal facility for the Waikato region, whilst recognising and supporting the cultural requirements for this project.
